2 Beginner's classes and a now a third class on Tuesdays for those with some experience of yoga.  The Beginner's class is suitable for you if you want to get back into yoga after a break or looking to start your yoga journey from scratch.   As well as teaching asanas (yoga poses) and alignment, these classes also focus on the principles and philosophy of yoga.

West Cornwall Inner Space is a lovely, large and light studio in Newlyn.  It's in a beautiful setting just above Newlyn harbour and fishing port.  There's plenty of room, mats and props are provided and it's a toasty space as we move into the chillier months now!

My Yoga Training

In 2018 I began Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Falmouth Yoga Space in Falmouth, Cornwall. https://falmouthyogaspace.co.uk  An amazing experience that opened up a whole new chapter in my life.


In 2019 I completed the 250 hour, level 1, Vinyasa Yoga teacher training programme that gave me an in depth understanding of yoga poses, yoga breathing, meditation, anatomy and physiology.  


In 2019 I also completed an 80 hour, level 2, Restorative Yoga teacher training at Falmouth Yoga Space.  See below for more information on this relaxing and restful practice.


In May 2022 I completed a 100 hour, Yin Yoga teacher training with Grace Tempany. https://gracetempany.com  

Yin accesses the deeper connective tissue in the body called the fascia.  This happens by coming into a pose, finding a level of sensation that feels like it's 'your edge', but  not painful, and holding it in stillness from anywhere to 3 to 15 minutes.  The poses generally tend to be floor poses.  Yin is about going within, finding stillness and encourages self awareness.  Yin Yoga has many physical and mental wellbeing benefits.

About the yoga I teach

Vinyasa Yoga

This is a style of yoga that aligns the breath with flowing movement from one yoga pose to the next.


My style of vinyasa is Slow Flow which is a gentler pace of vinyasa yoga.  I usually theme my classes on an aspect of yoga philosophy and focus the practice on one area of the body i.e. hips, shoulders, core etc., helping you to build strength, flexibility and mobility in these areas.


My classes also focus on pranayama and breath awareness and will always be the starting point for the class.


Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching.  Poses are held for a longer time .  However, your muscles are allowed to relax deeply because props such as bolsters, blocks or books, blankets and cushions, rather than your muscles, are used to support your body.  


I read some poetry while you're relaxing and there's a gloriously long Savasana at the end.  


It's quite a unique experience and a perfect end to your day to relax, renew, rejuvenate and restore your body and mind.

I love Sandra's Beginners Yoga at the Grove. Sandra's online classes are so great! They are easy to follow yet challenging enough.
